When life gets chaotic, our well being is one of the primary areas to suffer. Perhaps you say to yourself “there’s simply no time” and before you know it, you’ve put on weight, become stressed, haven’t work towards your goals and feel like you’ve lost all authority over your well being. Here are some innovative approaches to continue moving throughout the day, stay active and get the advantages of an energetic lifestyle without setting aside time to hit the gym.
1. Take a lunch break
It’s nothing new that sitting for a long time can contribute to metabolic disorder, heart attacks, diabetes, obesity etc. But taking regular breaks to stretch, walk around and go on a stroll after eating lunch is more then enough to keep you healthy and more energetic.
2. Do short blasts of action
You don’t need to exercise for 1 hour in a single shot to receive the rewards of activity. Studies have revealed that short blasts of movement throughout the day can be just as powerful. You might not become a bodybuilder when doing a 5 minute workout, but you will become healthier and more energetic to work towards your goals! (Send me a message if you want help finding good 5 minute workouts)
Try something completely new! Whether it be zumba, pole dancing, hula-hooping or something! They’re entertaining and your are spending time with other people discovering the same joy as you are! You’ll be amazed by how many calories you are burning and how your body gets toned without feeling like you’re exercising.
Remember to don’t be afraid to try it! These classes almost always have beginner classes where everyone are welcome no matter your background!
4. Exercise your mind
Remaining fit doesn’t just allude to dealing with your body, but also your brain. Taking some time throughout the day to clear your head will decrease your feelings of anxiety. Exercising your mind and clearing your head is different for everyone, for me clearing my head means doing som programming and working on some new fun project without any stress. For you it might mean baking a cake, repairing a car, painting some furniture, going to the gym, taking a walk. Just try to do something that is beneficial for you! Mindlessly watching TV just because you don’t have anything better to do is never a good thing. But I don’t mean you shouldn’t watch TV ever, just that sometimes you could probably do something more productive, or working towards your goals in life.
5. Whatever you do, make it fun
In case you’re setting off to the recreation center, an outing, taking a walk or painting a wall. Remember, to stay active make it fun, that way you won’t feel as forced. Well painting a wall might now be so fun while doing it, but maybe you can invite a friend, pay him with pizza and some good talks! Just because you are hanging with a friend dosen’t mean you need to sit around the table and talk.
